VIDEO : Kanye West First Interview For Ice-T’s New Film ‘Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap’
Viewers are taken on a personal journey into the craft and skills of rap, and what goes on inside the minds and erupts from the pens of rap legends, when Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap, Ice-T’s critically-acclaimed film, debuts on DVD, Digital, and Video on Demand on September 18th. Directed and hosted by rap legend Ice-T, the release of The Art of Rap on DVD follows the documentary’s premier at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival and successful theatrical runs in the United States and England.
A performance documentary about the runaway juggernaut that is hip-hop, Something From Nothing: The Art of Rap features some of the genre’s biggest talents, including Chuck D, Grandmaster Caz, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Melle Mel, Q-Tip, Redman, Mos Def, Afrika Bambaataa, B Real, Immortal Technique, Ice Cube, MC Lyte, Nas, Dr. Dre, KRS One, Common and Kanye West.
The film has won raves from hip-hop specialists and more mainstream media alike.

G.O.O.D. Music Album Gets Official September Release Date
It seems G.O.O.D. Music’s “Cruel Summer” is turning into more of a cruel autumn. Def Jam has announced that the compilation from Kanye West and his labelmates will be available both digitally and physically on September 4th.
G.O.O.D. member Pusha T had originally pegged the set with an August 7th release date.
Meanwhile, Kanye and Pusha are gracing the new issue of “Complex” magazine, along with fellow G.O.O.D. Music stars Kid Cudi, Big Sean, Common, John Legend, Q-Tip and 2 Chainz.
Kanye doesn’t contribute anything to the cover story, but the rest of the crew does talk about how Yeezy helps everyone and is always challenging them to be better.
Two Chainz also talks about his standing with G.O.O.D. Music, explaining that he may be an unofficial member of the team, but he still has a “great rapport” with West.

“Life Is Good” for Nas these days. The rapper is back with his first album in four years with a host of guest artists shoring him up. “Life Is Good” features contributions from Rick Ross, Mary J. Blige, Anthony Hamilton and the late Amy Winehouse. The album also features production work from No I.D., Rodney Jerkins, Swizz Beats, Salaam Remi and others. Nas made headlines recently when he unveiled the cover for the new album.
It features the Queens emcee seated with a green dress draped over his right leg. As it turns out the dress was the wedding dress worn by his ex-wife, singer Kelis. Nas says it was the only thing Kelis left behind in their house after their divorce.
Beyonce and Jay-Z partied at the Moët Rosé Lounge hosted event at Bagatelle in New York City Monday for Nas’ Life Is Good release.
TheYBF reports Bey dodged cameras all night, she was seen rocking her new blonde braids and dancing “by herself” in the corner at one point. All while Jay-Z and Nas took shots of tequila.
The couple hit up the MoëtRosé Lounge in New York City to celebrate Nas’ new album Life Is Good.

Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music label is now home to another famous emcee. MTV News says Q-Tip has signed on to the Def Jam imprint. The A Tribe Called Quest rapper says he’s “excited” to be a part of G.O.O.D. Music, adding that he’s going to do his best to “present the most cutting-edge music” he can. Last night Kanye West and Jay-Z hosted another private listening party for their upcoming album Watch The Throne. A lot of big name people were in the building to listen to the album too.

Q-Tip and Kanye West At The 7th Annual Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival
It definitely came as a surprise when rappers Q-Tip and Kanye West came on stage and performed Award Tour yesterday at the 7th Annual Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival. Q-Tip was the main headliner for the festival but things got crazy when he brought Ye out on stage. Kanye changed his swag up a little bit and looked more down to earth with a snap back (guess they’re really back if Kanye’s wearing them), a tank, and faded jeans. Nonetheless, he was a fashion symbol as always.
I’m surprised by the duo performance because of all of the news coverage that Kanye and Jay-Z’s new album Watch The Throne has been receiving. Supposedly Watch The Throne is schedule to release on August 2nd. But we’ll see. You know how these artists are with release dates. Kanye also took the time to perform his hit All Of The Lights and Dark Fantasy. Personally I would have thought that the next time we saw Kanye on stage would be to promote he and Jay-Z’s new album. The performance was hot though. Check out the amazing set here:

Diggy Performs At B.B. Kings For Freshmen Live!
Yesterday, XXL Magazine hosted its annual “Freshmen Live” concert featuring many of the rappers who appeared on the cover of their April issue like Mac Miller, Kendrick Lamar, Diggy Simmons, Meek Mill, Fred the Godson, Lil Twist and YG. To show love and support Diggy’s father legendary Rev Run and Brother Russy aka Russell Simmons Jr came out to watch Diggy tear up the stage. It wouldn’t have been a complete performance if Rev didn’t grace the stage. He came out and performed a duet song with his son. That was definitely a moment they will live to tell the kids about. LOL
