My home girl Queen Latifah is doing big things but she has not let that get in the way of her giving back to the community. The lovely talk show host conspired with the United Negro College Fund to help a young woman stay in school and pursue her dreams of being a veterinarian. There’s money falling out the sky to keep this girl in college.
Queen Latifah landed some great interviews this year on the first season on her new show. She was the first to have Billy Ray Cyrus talk about his daughter Miley’s new image, Kelly Rowland broke her engagement news this week, and she showcased a diverse mix of guest as well. Check out some video of todays Queen Latifah Show below with Kelly Rowland, Taraji P. Henson, and Mary J Blige below. Read More »
Everyone came out dressed to the nines on Saturday, but there were several ladies that stopped the show. It was quite chilly in Newark, NJ on the pink carpet, but there were some Black Girls Rockin the carpet and heating things up.
Golden Brooks stole the show, wearing a vintage piece from Halston.
We were at the pink carpet for the taping of Black Girls Rock on Saturday. We won’t spoil the show for you guys since it won’t air until next Sunday. But, we will let you in on what the stars were wearing.
The carpet was a who’s who for black Hollywood. These ladies showed up and out. Some gave us exclusive interviews, stay tuned for details; while some simply let us in on who they chose to style them. The event was amazing and empowering to say the least. Take a look at some of our pictures and don’t forget to check out our exclusive interviews with the likes of Tatiana Ali, Golden Brooks, Persia White, Soledad O’Brian, and so many more.
She was every man’s first TV mom crush the former “Cosby Show” star Phylicia Rashad is 65. She has accomplished a lot in those 65 years. She will forever have the love and adoration of the 80′s babies as the take no non-sense Clair Olivia Hanks Huxtable from the “Cosby Show”.
Clair Huxtable embodied the wonderful elements of your classic dream girl. She was FINE, BEAUTIFUL, SMART, LOVED MUSIC, and COULD HOLD HER MAN DOWN. We all grew to love Phylicia Rashad as she held her own next to the magnificent comedian Bill Cosby. Phylicia Rashad created a lasting legacy outside of her amazing career with Bill Cosby which included two sitcoms and tons of awards.
In addition to her work with the Cos she has forged an awesome path of her own which includes winning a Tony Award for her work in the Broadway revival of “A Raisin In The Sun,” co-starring Sean “Diddy” Combs. Rashad also starred in the TV movie based on the Broadway play revival. She helped to bring a modern and urban ‘Steel Magnolias’to life last year with an awesome cast of actresses including Queen Latifah, Alfre Woodward, Lance Gross, and Jill Scott.
Check out some of our favorite moments featuring the great Phylicia Rashad below:
We salute you Phylicia Rashad for being a shining example of what a career woman, mother, and wife can achieve.
Bert Belasco and co-star “Cougar” Debbie Allen enacting a scene. Hey! Is that Welcome Back Carter in the right corner? In case you been wondering “What happened to” back in the day “FAME” sitcom dance choreographer Debbie Allen? Looks like she’s still
