The Annual Pan-African Film festival Atlanta (PAFF-ATL) was began yesterday. The Pan-African Film Festival (PAFF) is gearing up to take moviegoers on a cinematic journey with international film screenings from around the globe.
President Obama gave another impressive speech at Nelson Mandela’s memorial today. Along with First Lady Michelle Obama, The Bushes and The Clintons, President Obama hopped on Air Force 1 last night to make a moving speech at Mandela’s National Memorial service in South Africa today. Citizens and leaders from around the world gathered outside of Johannesburg at FNB Stadium, also known as Soccer City to remember the greatness of South Africa’s first black President. In last nightâ€™s episode of Bravoâ€™s Real Housewives of Atlanta, Â all of the girls except the lovely Kim Zolciak traveled to South Africa.
Episode 11 last week drew 2.77 million viewers, slightly up from a season low 2.7 million a week earlier. The show, which airs at 9 p.m., is getting beaten by â€œKourtney & Kim Takes New Yorkâ€ on E!, which drew 2.9 million an hour later.
Itâ€™s also behind the comparable 11th episode a year ago at about 160,000 fewer viewers.

Entrepreneur and well-known figure in media industry, Oprah Winfrey, flew to South Africa to attend the graduation program of the class of 2011 at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls on January 14. The leadership academy is situated in Henley on Klip, South Africa.
According to sources, the school was opened in 2008 and this is the first batch of graduates. The source added that all of the girls will be attending colleges while 10 percent of them will be brought here in the United States.

In other news, the media mogul is adding three new programs to his own OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) TV Channel. Source said that the title of the new programs will be “Lovetown USA,” “Lives on Fire,” and “Are You Normal, America?”

Seems my girl Vivica A. Fox was feeling a bit of fatigue/jetlag from that flight to Johannesburg, South Africa last night and she let the locals feel it! It appears that the actress, who was asked on stage with Regina King, Brandy and South African Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula (who also invited the actresses to the country) to take pictures, didn’t like the fact that the MC had also invited actresses Matheba and Sonia Sedibe of soap opera Generations on stage.
