Dariel Pulliam an iconic hairstylist and make-up artist but to many of the people who attended his home going celebration, he was a true friend that inspired and touched everyone he encountered. His warm kind hearted spirit was a quality he was blessed with and he unknowingly improved the quality of our lives just by being himself.
The ceremony was none like I’d ever seen The City of Atlanta came out to pay their respects to my homie and most of them stood up and revealed to everyone what a blessing it was to have known him. The most beautiful part of the ceremony was when over 300 of Dariel’s friends gathered outside for the releasing of the balloons. Just before the releasing we all sang “Amazing Grace” after the song was over we said our silent prayers to him and released the spiritual balloons into the air and watched them vanish into the distance.
R&B Singer Tiffany Evans spoke about her first experience as one of Dariel’s clients. She expressed to him that he was braiding her hair too tight, Dariel simply replied,
“Sweetie If you wanna look like me, then tight is what you get”
Tiffany couldn’t deny that fact so she let him continue, (LOL) she said from their on out she and her husband welcomed Dariel into their life just like family and they developed a close a healthy bond.
Celebrity hair stylist Derek J was unable to attend do to unexpected schedule, but he sent his sister to speak kind words on his behalf on how much he loves, respect, and adores his friend and colleague.
Hip Hop Artist Mika Means, conveyed how Dariel always had a keen intuition for people enduring trying times. She said every time she and Dariel were in each others presence, he always sensed she needed to talk to someone and every time Dariel was there to be an ear for her and issue out his words of wisdom. He never spoke negative of anyone and always embraced positivity EVERYWHERE he went.

I was lost for words after finding out that the homie Dariel had died. I have to say I will always remember that he was always extra crazy and funny. You never know what he would do or say next here is a pictures from the first time I met him and Frankie he always kept me laughing.
On Monday April 5, 2011 at the age of 29 Dariel has gone home to rest with God. Dariel’s true love for God allowed him to love everyone. Dariel D. Pulliam Jr. was a celebrity hairstylist known for his appearances on BET’s “Keyshia Cole – The Way it is,†“Tears Shears and Beauty,†and the “Frankie n Neffe show.â€
Dariel’s career blossomed in Baltimore, MD under the guidance of Renea Whitherspoon, Rondy and Steeley Griffen, and Carmen Brown. From their training he learned how to manipulate current hair styles and produce new hair trends. After mastering his craft, he decided to move to Atlanta to pursue a freelance career while furthering his education and training.
While being in Atlanta for only a short period he became key hair stylist for multiple music videos, photo shoots, and runway shows. He has also been a featured hairstylist on the cover of national publications, image consultant to established and upcoming artist, and a nation platform artist for major hair care distributors. While blossoming in his freelance career Dariel P. wanted to take on the hair competition arena. After winning his very first hair show he caught the competitive bug and went on to become one of the top hairstylists in the field winning the title as Atlanta’s best hair stylist in 2010. (10/9/2010) Tina Knowles is more than Beyonce’s mama. She launched her affordable chic fashion line: “Miss Tina” at Walmart. You could get a whole wardrobe for under $140.00. The colors are of warm hues. Knowles started the clothing label about three years ago, originally partnering with HSN. It was a great experience that afforded her the chance to get feedback from customers. Her clothing line is for every woman sizes 2-20. She didn’t want to leave anyone out. Supporters and fans were everywhere inside of Walmart. One customer drove from South Carolina just to meet her.

Last night, I went to a music showcase at the Havana Club in Atlanta. All of my favorite people were there including Bryan Michael-Cox, Nivea, Tiffany Evans, and Tricky Stewart . Willie Hendrixx, known as “Sir Will†and his band “The Rose Paradeâ€,  Daniel “Real Love” Dickey and Brandon J. were amongst many others who ripped the stage performing their hearts out. The event was hosted by P.K. Kirk & Byron Wright. Big shout out to all my people at FENG SHUI, which is a live showcase held the second Tuesday of every month.
