“Say Aah” singer Trey Songz is working on getting rapper Jay-Z to collaborate with him. Songz is currently on Jigga’s “BP3″ tour with Young Jeezy. Rap-Up.com says he hopes he and his tour mates can get on a record together. The singer says, quote, “We’ve spoken about collaborations — Jay, Jeezy, and I — and hopefully it all works out. I’mma do my part. I got the record to play [Jay]. We’ll see what it is.” With the ball in Jay-Z’s court, it’s hard to tell if he’ll have time to get in the studio with Songz and Jeezy anytime soon. The “BP3″ tour runs through March 26th. That’s when it’s scheduled to wrap up its U.S. leg at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Jigga takes a little break from touring then — meaning he’ll only be playing the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California on April 16th. But Jay-Z will start back up in June with a European tour. His first date is on June 4th in Germany.

I got to say the homie Trey Songz don’t take NO MESS. He and R&B singer Jarvis partied it up the other night when a disrespectful party goer had to be put in line after coming INCORRECT. Trey who told the Drunk DISGRUNTLE person “please stop pushing him“. This version of the song, featuring vocals from Justin Bieber, Jennifer Hudson, Lil Wayne, Janet Jackson, Miley Cyrus, Jamie Foxx, Mary J. Blige, Kanye West, T-Pain, Usher, Wyclef Jean and much more, is much more contemporary than the original but it fits today’s music era. The song’s original writer and singer Michael Jackson also appears in the song and video (his sister Janet sings the first chorus with footage of Mike thrown in). They also kept one of MJ’s original parts and show footage of him singing it (Nice!).

The 25th Anniversary recording features over 80 artists and performers. The recording of We Are The World 25 For Haiti embodied the same enthusiasm, sense of purpose and generosity as the original recording 25 years ago. Every one of the artists who participated, regardless of genre or generation, walked into the room with their hearts and souls completely open to coming together to help the people of Haiti.

The video shows footage of Haiti and the efforts surrounding its repair, along with footage of the artists mentioned above and more recording the song in the studio. If MJ was here he would be so happy..

A possible debut date for Nelly’s new television project has not been announced. Nelly is also currently working on his untitled, sixth studio album. The record is expected in stores later this year.

TheYBF.com is reporting that about 100 celebrities hit Jim Henson studios in L.A. yesterday to re-record Quincy Jones‘ 1985 production of “We Are The World.” Quincy and Lionel Richie came together to produce the 2010 version called the “We Are The World 25 Years for Haiti.”

The charity anthem “We Are the World” has been given a hip-hop, pop twist by 80 artists who have re-recorded the 1980s hit in the same Hollywood studio where the original was cut 25 years ago.

Pink, Natalie Cole, Kanye West, Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion, Brian Wilson and others stood shoulder to shoulder Monday night on risers at Henson Recording studios, singing in hopes of aiding Haiti.

“This one, the enthusiasm, I’ve never seen anything like it,” said Lionel Richie, who wrote the original “We Are the World” with Michael Jackson, and oversaw the redux version with music mogul Quincy Jones, 76.

At one point during a break, the musicians broke out into an a cappella version of the pop classic “Lean on Me,” a classic moment jump-started by singer Melanie Fiona leaning on another artist because her feet were tired.

Gesturing with her hands, and shifting her headphones from ear to ear, Barbra Streisand recorded her solo over and over again, completely absorbed in the recording process and stopping only to correct her pitch.

Later, a who’s who of rappers, including Snoop Dogg, LL Cool J and Wyclef Jean, recorded an interlude written by Black Eyed Peas frontman and producer will.i.am.XX
