Billboard Hot 100 and Hot 200 charts with the single “One Dance” and the album “Views” by Drake have literally gone off the charts. Drake makes history for the first time as the second male artist to have a No. 1 song and album in the country for seven weeks! Who can guess the first to do it?
The King of Pop! Yes, that is right everyone Drake has managed to tie with Michael Jackson. He was the only other male artist to the achieve the same feat back in 1983 with the singles “Billie Jean” and “Thriller”. The Beatles and Whitney Houston are the only two other acts in the chart’s history.
Now, I know that people have mixed feelings about him breaking this record and i am one of them. Personally, I don’t think that this is necessarily the album that should have broke this record. I think that his album “Take Care” is much much better but then again I do understand that that album wasn’t going to hit the charts like that because of when it came out, he was a new artist.
I am proud of his accomplishments but let me just say that the ratings and measurements for people to stay on charts like these have definitely changed.

According to Drake’s instagram post this morning, he is excited to announce that he has held the #1 spot on two types of the BillBoard categories consecutively for over a month. Views has done numbers on scales that I am sure Drake never imagined it would! The album is amazing and that has definitely shown through the number of recent listens and sales.
Drake posted that the album “V I E W S” is on the Billboard 200 for the 6th week in a row and his single “One Dance” is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the 5th week in a row! Can you say a m a z i n g?
There is always criticism and for this particular album it came from two different angles, some thought it wasn’t “hard” enough and some thought it was great how it was. Drake always gets a lot of heat for allegedly “pretending” to be something that he is not through his songs but personally I think this album was definitely is Drake. He makes songs that you can just cruise to in your car and they are usually very sentimental which is perfectly fine!
I love his angle in the industry and I am very proud of him!

I do not know if everyone agrees with the song, “Started from the bottom”, but wherever Drake started from, he is definitely here now! Drake just confirmed that his album “Views” has sold a million copies in one week. Have you bought yours yet?
This is good news for an artist considering the fact that it is very easy to download free music these days. Drake, often referred to as the sentimental artist by many, never stops grinding and it clearly pays off. The album “Views” is a big milestone for him and I believe he is more than grateful for where life has taken him. Truth be told, many people make fun of how corny Drake can be at times, (including myself), but that doesn’t change the fact that he makes music that many people appreciate, can relate to and can vibe with.
I’ve heard different reviews about this latest album, saying that most of the songs are “slow”, but I’m pretty sure that this is the kind of music that Drake prefers to make. If you don’t like it then, that’s fine because as an artist once your following is built up and sturdy your creativity flourishes even more. When you make good music then that’s just what you do and Drake is continuously showing us that this is what he was made for.
Make sure you all get that album!

After months of anticipation, Drake has dropped his 4th studio album entitled Views. The Canadian rapper has been teasing fans and music connoisseurs for quite some time about the album’s official title and release date.
Several weeks prior to the album’s release, Drake introduced fans to two singles from the album. The single entitled “Pop Style”, featuring Kanye West and Jay-Z, serves an eerie melody underlining the strong lyrical prowess of Jay-Z and Kanye who are rightfully credited on the song as “the throne.” While the second single “One Dance” featuring Wiz Kid provides the perfect afro-punk melody for approaching summer. These distinct singles left fans eager to lay ear to the album and the wait is finally over!
