I had the privilege of attending a private advanced screening of Will Packer’s latest project “No Good Deed” a thriller starring Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson. The movie is bananas! After seeing the movie I had the opportunity to interview Will Packer and Taraji P Henson about the movie, themes associated with the movie, and Atlanta’s impact on pop culture.

I can’t really talk about “No Good Deeds” in detail but trust me this is a movie you will want to see. It’s probably one of the best movies I have ever seen. It’s a thriller showcasing two excellent African-American actors Idris Elba and Taraji P. Henson who given the opportunity can showcase the range of emotions and depth that has been limited to us as a group. If you have not seen the trailer of “Good Deeds” check it out.
The film, which was actually made in 2012, was pushed back for release three times. During the filming there was a lot going on. Idris Elba was filming “Mandela” and was traveling back and forth. Taraji shares during the interview that the fight scenes in the movie was very hard.
Taraji is devoted to showcasing a range of emotions. When asked about the current events of the day she shares that she believes in giving back and working in the community. In light of the issues going on in Ferguson, Mo and all over the country with violence impacting young black men; she shares that she does not believe in the use of guns.
Will Packer was enthusiastic after the screening as he shared that ATL is a huge supporter of his works. Will shared that he feels it is important to showcase the talent in Atlanta and give the city first access when it comes to screening and seeing what is being done in the entertainment industry. In addition to “No Good Deeds”, Will is currently filming “Ride Along 2” and confesses there will be a “Ride Along 3” in the near future.
Atlanta’s top bloggers and celebrities including Ryan Cameron, Kenny Burns, Todd Tucker with daughters Riley and Kaela, and were in the house for the screening. Everyone was excited to see the movie and we all want you to save Friday, September 12, 2014 the day the movie hits a theater near you.
