Tupac influenced and inspired an entire generation to change for the better and to encourage people to be better human beings, steering away from the parts of society where there is no hope. The times where music no matter the genre, told a story and spoke on the real ongoing issues affecting society was definitely Tupac’s time. What is your favorite Pac song?
I know without hesitation my two favorite are: “Keep Ya Head Up” and “Dear Mama”. These songs really hit home because it addresses the issues no one speaks on and/or pretend to care about for a moment to satisfy the media. In these songs, Tupac brings attention to the way we treat our women. We always have campaigns for “saving our sons” (which I have nothing against) , but remember we wouldn’t have sons if we didn’t have women.
Women need to be appreciated for bringing you into this world and also for going through things the male species could never. The respect starts with ourselves but it doesn’t help for the men to be so against supporting women, and especially in the African-American community. This is what Tupac was trying to get across because it is key to progression as a nation.
Happy Birthday Tupac!
Thank you for dropping your seeds, we will not let them go in vain because we know what your goal was and it will be honored and executed!
