Yesterday I had the amazing opportunity to attend Transformation 2011: A Day of Beauty which took place at the YWCA of Greater Atlanta. With a chain of successful beauty salons, Latonya Saunderson of The Weave Shop Salon joined forces with Towanda Braxton and Sisters’ Network to provide makeovers to deserving women overcoming breast cancer. Stylists from her seven Atlanta area salons were on hand to assist in making the women look even more fabulous than they already were. Lamik Beauty provided the make-up makeovers for the women. In addition to all of this, I provided the ladies with a complimentary head shot to show off their new look.
Making sure that these breast cancer survivors felt great inside and out is what this day was all about, and it definitely was delivered. The Weave Shop Salon felt it necessary to honor some of the community’s unsung heroines by enhancing their inner and outer beauty.
In addition to the beauty makeovers, there was an inspirational program in which guest speakers including Towanda Braxton and soloists gave words of encouragement covering topics such as fitness, nutrition and personal testimonies.
The wonderful women were extremely touched by the day. They stated how much needed this was and that bonds were created that would never be forgotten.
It touched my heart to do this event! I will never forget this opportunity!
My friend Safiyyah Mack do weave WAAAAAYY Better than them…Im just sayin
