Tupac’s Mother Gives Approval To Upcoming Broadway Musical

The upcoming Broadway musical featuring Tupac Shakur’s famed catalog of hits is getting a very important vote of approval. TMZ.com says Tupac’s mother, Afeni Shakur, is “ecstatic” for “Holler If Ya Hear Me” to make its debut. Director Kenny Leon wanted Afeni’s approval before moving forward, so he gave her a rough preview of the project. Afeni loved what she saw, and can’t wait for fans to enjoy the production. “Holler If Ya Hear Me” will tell the fictional story of two childhood friends in the Midwest. While the story won’t include any parts of Tupac’s life, it will be inspired by the late rap icon’s music. Casting is set to begin on March 10th. A premiere date has not yet been set.
