Last Saturday, the death of former girl group, ‘Blaque,’ Natina Reed was reported.  Reed who was a rapper in the group and also was the mother to rapper Kurupt‘s son. It is still unclear of death. Her parents believe it could have been cell phone related. The driver of the car who hit Reed speaks out. Full story inside.

On Saturday Reed was struck by a car it is not clear as if she was standing or walking on the roadway in Atlanta.  As reported by TheJasminBrand, Kurupt released a statement on Sunday:

“Myself and Tren, Natina’s son, would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this tragic time. This is a tremendous loss to our family. Natina was a great person and I wish everyone had the opportunity to meet her and know her as I did.”

Natina’s parents were also shocked and hurt by the news of losing their daughter. Her parents Tamara Goodridge and father Paul Reed reached out to Atlanta’s Channel 2:

“She was full of life, tenacity and a visionary always a visionary and very good at what she did. Even her acting you could see the light of what she was trying to communicate. Her acting was so profound that you believed the story.”

 

 

“We’re not looking to be victims. We’re not seeking to be angry, but we do need a resolve. She was on the phone. She was walking across the street on the phone, and the next thing she’s on the floor. I’m sure it played a big part in it, so I’m asking anyone who will view this tape to please be conscientious of the cellphones.”

 Blaque members, Brandi and Shamari, released a statement via twitter about the passing of their other member:

As reported by MediaTakeOut, Natina was killed right in front of her home. She was crossing the street trying to go to the gas station on the other side of the street. Natina crossed Lawrenceville Highway in Georgia.  She was not crossing in a crosswalk. A car moving at a fast pace stuck Natina the couple inside stopped, but thought they hit a deer not a person. The driver called 911 and Natina was rushed to the hospital and reported dead on arrival.

Reed’s parents have not set a day or time for a public wake and funeral. We send condolences to Natina Reed’s family and friends during this hard time.
