VH1’s newest reality shows, ‘Sorority Sisters’ has been one of the most widely protested television shows as of late #BoycottSororitySisters is the hashtag. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated has suspended it’s members for 2 years. It has gotten real in these streets.

Check out the details below.

VH1’s “Sorority Sisters” hasn’t been on the air for long but it has certainly garnered much controversy. The cast are members of different Black Greek letter organizations, commonly referred to as the Divine Nine.

As a member of Alpha Phi Alpha, I knew that this show was going to hit the fan. Greeks from across the nation and world are sickened by the depiction of Sorority Sisters.

VH1’s “Sorority Sisters” has brought the Divine 9 together to show solidarty against the show, the network, and advertisers who run ads during the 60 minute time slot.

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (AKA) has listed cast members April R. McRae and Rwanda Hammond as suspended from the Sorority. The suspension start date is listed as 12/26/2014 and will end on 07/15/2016. They are no longer allowed to wear sorority paraphernalia or attend official sorority events during this time period.

DANG! That’s rough but we know the deal when it comes to our letters. What’s going to happen with the ladies of Delta Sigma Theta? What’s going to happen with the lady of Zeta Phi Beta? What’s going to happen to the lady of Sigma Gamma Rho?

What do you think?
