VH1’s Sorority Girls made a splash that rippled across the television and had social media in an uproar. Have VH1 gone too far in it’s attempt to capture African Amerian viewership by adding Black Greek Letter Organizations to it’s television play list?

Sorority Sisters
VH1’s new series “Sorority Sisters” featuring nine members from the four national Panhellic Greek Organizations is receiving a lot of buzz after it’s premiere episode. Reality TV is all about entertainment and “Sorority Sisters” offer the same type of ratchet fun that includes fussing, fighting, name calling, but with a twist that shines light on sisterhood. The Atlanta series that highlights being a graduate chapter Greek is making it rounds on social media and everyone has an opinion. Many viewers are boycotting the show and rallying up a boycott against advertisers that have commericals during the 60 minute time slot. Greeks and non-Greeks alike reacted on social media, slamming the show for perpetuating negative stereotypes check out what some had to say below:
#SororitySisters @VH1 is a disgrace & example of doing anything 4 fame. #SororitySisters in real life means sisterhood, love & support.

What’s your opinion?
Personally I like the show for entertainment purposes only, however, it does depict educated African American girls into a negative light! My persepective the show is centered around drama which is okay because that make the show interesting and bring ratings but the core of the show is based around Drama that I dont understand. I would have thought these so called educated woman would be doing a lot of community services project, since the black community is in shamble and thats the ground fraternity and sorority were based on and founded . I figured the young ladies would have done community events or showed sisterhood amongst each other instead of aruging and denying each other are apart of the same Sorority. Its just a bad rap for the black community to know that girls go to school for 4 plus years and most of them havent accomplish anything staying with one another and living on each other couches thats a bad depection. Why would you want to get on TV and let the world see you in that light , if you dont have you stuff in order. There is no way in the world no TV show could offer me to broadcast my life to the world is my stuff wasnt 100!! Im not down looking a fool for the public! We are all black and in a struggle different sorrority or fraternity you all should still conduct yourselves professional. Throwing drinks on each other and fighting one another its enough white people that are keeping us down why, hold each other down… I am beggining to feel sorry for the black race as a whole … anytime you have educated woman that hold degree or degrees and they behaven like this its a big problem. THis is the behavior I would expect out of uneducated negro. White people are sitting back having a field day laughing at us educated and all… this show should be the platform to exploit your business and give it the marketing it need to go to the next level instead of the foolishness@.
