Skull Gang affiliate Hynief is giving his side of the story about his confrontation with Jo Jo Simmons — the son of Run D.M.C.’s Reverend Run. Over the weekend, Hynief posted a picture on his Instagram account that seemed to depict Hynief holding Jo Jo by shirt in a compromising position.
In the accompanying caption Hynief wrote that he made Jo Jo call Skull Gang founder Juelz Santana and apologize for a recent diss track. Now, Hynief is speaking out about the incident. The rapper tells Undergroundtunnel.tv that he never struck Jo Jo, but only roughed him up “a little bit.” He also says Juelz Santana had nothing to do with the altercation an had no idea Hynief would go after Jo Jo.
Hynief says he doesn’t care that Jo Jo is related to hip-hop pioneers Reverend Run and Russell Simmons. Nor is he worried about being blacklisted from the rap industry for roughing up Jo Jo. Meanwhile, Jo Jo spoke out about the incident earlier this week, saying that he refused to get involved in the violent side of hip-hop.
