An Idaho man named, Joe Rickey Hundley, was flying on a Delta Airline and allegedly slapped a crying 19 month old baby during his flight. CNN reports that on February 8th the child’s mother, Jessica Bennett, and her baby were sitting in the 28th row in seat B on flight 721 (Delta.) The woman is from Minnesota. The flight was headed to Atlanta, GA and during the altitude change the child began to cry when the flight was landing. Allegedly Joe was seated next to the woman and child and said to her, ‘Shut that n-word baby up.’
Allegedly after the harsh words to Jessica he turned around and slapped the baby in the face with an open hand. Once slapped it caused the child to scream louder. The boy got a scratch below his right eye after the incident. Jessica told CNN, “I could not believe that he would say something like that and to a baby or about a baby and then to hit him was just, I felt like I was in another world. I was shaking.”
AGC Aerospace & Defense the employer of Joe released a statement:
“Reports of the recent behavior of one of our business unit executives while on personal travel are offensive and disturbing. We have taken this matter very seriously and worked diligently to examine it since learning of the matter on Friday afternoon. As of Sunday, the executive is no longer employed with the company.”
