New obituary program photos used during Whitney Houston‘s funeral Saturday (Feb 18) at the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey have been released.
The day before the service, photos from the program used during singer’s wake and private viewing, held Friday night (Feb 17) at the Wingham Funeral Home in Newark, were released. Click Here
GossipOnThis reports the originally believed to be the official funeral program, the program from the wake was well put together and featured photos of the singer in happier times with friends and family, including her daughter Bobbi Kristina, as well as a detailed biography.
The obituary program from yesterday’s funeral services is much more detailed, and the biography is longer and more descriptive of Whitney’s illustrious music career.
The funeral obituary program also features a poem written to Houston by her mother, gospel singer Cissy Houston.
Noticeably missing from BOTH programs is any photos (or mention) of Bobby Brown, who Houston was married to for 15 years, between 1992 and 2007.
Brown was invited to Houston’s funeral and attended, however he left (or was asked to leave) shortly before the service began after a dispute with organizers about seating arrangements.

Please everyone let Whitney rest in peace. Why do you feel you need a copy of her obituary? that is for her family and her family and friends alone. Let their hearts take in all of this, they must hurt like none of us can understand. We are mere fans of Whitney, Let her music take us where it took us before her passing because, we all know she is up there singing her heart out to the LORD so that he may send her voice to his FATHER. Would you honestly send an obituary of your love one just because they know of them? we as fans can only feel for her mother and relatives in this sorrow time for them. We all need to ask of peace be still and let GOD. Whitney’s family appreciate all of our condolences as her fans but, they don’t owe us to be in her personal life. We are truly fans that loved and stil love Whitney and her music. GOD sent that angel to us for 48 years and her music touched each and everyone of us. He called her home because it was time for her to get some well deserved rest in his arms.
