Young Jeezy announced back in July that his long awaited album, Thug Motivation 103, would drop September 20th. However, that is no longer the case. The Atlanta rapper is experiencing yet another delay for the album. While a lot of hype has been created for the project including two mixtapes (The Real Is Back and The Real Is Back 2) and a video for his song Ballin which featured Lil Wayne, it seems things are not yet in order for Jeezy. In an interview with Jenny Boom Boom, Jeezy tells fans the reasoning behind the delay of the album:
“I’ma keep it real. At the time, you know I had to go live life. I was on two big tours [with Lil Wayne and Jay-Z], so I was just doing a lot of rapper things. I get my music from the streets and livin’ — and I didn’t live. I didn’t do Jeezy. I was doing Young Jeezy, the rapper, but I wasn’t doing Jeezy. So I went back home and kinda just got out and started moving around. It just all came together.”
As of now, a new release date for the album has not been released. What do you think of Jeezy’s album delay? Are you upset or are you happy that he’s taking the time that he needs?
I think Jeezy has to do what’s best for Jeezy at this point in his life and his own career. It’s not like he’s going to miss any money or he’s going to be evicted from his home, just for taking some time out for himself.
If Jeezy feels that he needs to do him at this point, then let him do him.
Jeezy been trying to drop an album for like 2 years now, I just think his music is not catching on to the masses anymore. Thug Motivation 101 was a great album but you RARELY hear Jeezy music anywhere nowadays. It doesn’t have that classic appeal but I hope he finds his mojo.
Why for a minute there I thought they had the wrong photo in this post….because he starting to look like Shorty Lo in this pic…yuuuck!
