The man suspected in the murder of Atlanta rapper Slim Dunkin was indicted by a grand jury this week. The “Atlanta Journal-Constitution” says rapper Young Vito, whose real name is Vinson Hardimon, was formally charged on Tuesday with felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony. Young Vito is accused of shooting Slim Dunkin, real name Mario Hamilton, on December 16th in an Atlanta recording studio. Young Vito was reportedly waiting to use the recording booth when he allegedly punched Slim Dunkin and a fight broke out. Slim Dunkin was shot in the chest during the fight, and was declared dead at a local hospital.
Young Vito fled the scene, but turned himself in to authorities ten days after the shooting. A trial date for his case has not yet been set.
