“Glee’s” tribute to the late Whitney Houston was a ratings success. The show’s Whitney-inspired episode helped guide Fox to a Tuesday night victory in the coveted 18 to 49 demo. According to “The Hollywood Reporter,” Fox averaged a two-point-four rating and brought in almost seven-million viewers last  night. Tuesday night’s episode of “Glee” featured the cast performing such Houston hits as “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” “How Will I Know,” and “I Have Nothing.” “Glee” also paid their respects to Whitney shortly after her death back in February.

Glee’s Whitney Houston tribute episode pulled in nearly 7 million viewers on Tuesday night, says preliminary Nielsen overnight data.
‘Dance With Somebody’ picked up 6.9m and a demo rating of 2.7 with 18-49 adults, rising sharply off its all-time low last week.
However, Zooey Deschanel’s New Girl dipped to 5.2m (2.6) in the 9pm hour, despite a higher Glee lead-in.
Still, Fox pipped NBC to top primetime, with The Biggest Loser (6.8m/2.2), The Voice (8.7m/3.2) and Fashion Star (4.6m/1.6) earning the Peacock Network a second place finish.
Private Practice gave ABC a significant boost at 10pm with 8.4m (2.2), having fallen under 7m last week.
