Big Boi Explains Lack Of OutKast Reunion, Talks New Album : VIDEO – Morris Brown Files Chapter 11 Bankruptcy

It seems the world almost got some new OutKast music this year, but Big Boi apparently nixed the idea.
Earlier this year, the Atlanta rapper tweeted that he and OutKast’s other half, André 3000, were set to appear together on new tracks by Frank Ocean and T.I., but both collaborations were pulled.

Big Boi explains to Billboard that he and André agreed they didn’t want an OutKast reunion to come out on someone else’s record.

But he assures fans this doesn’t mean there’s a “beef” between the two emcees.

For now, Big Boi says they’re focused on their solo albums, adding that they’ll “see what happens after that.”

Meanwhile, Big Boi says his relationship with André is “another leaf on the branch” of his upcoming solo effort, “Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors.” He says he plans to finish the record in the next couple of weeks, and is still on track to put it out on November 13th.

Above is one of my favorite Outcast songs “Morris Brown” the song was the second single from OutKast’s sixth studio album, Idlewild. The song featured guest vocals from Scar and Sleepy Brown. It is named after Morris Brown College and features the Morris Brown College Marching Wolverines. André 3000 produced the song, but does not appear on the track. The song was produced during the recording of the Stankonia tracks, but was not released. The single peaked at #43 in the UK, and peaked at #95 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Speaking of Morris Brown news sources report the school is facing more than $30 million in debt, Morris Brown College officials have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports  that the move is a last ditch effort to prevent the school from being foreclosed on and sold at auction.

The 131-year-old historically black college is facing foreclosure next month after investors called $13 million worth of bonds tied to the school.

The bonds were issued in 1996 by the Fulton County Development Authority. The school had pledged several pieces of property as security. An auction of assets was set for Sept. 4.

Chapter 11 gives federal protection to businesses unable to pay their debts and allows reorganization. A lawyer for Morris Brown says the emergency filing delays the foreclosure until a judge decides otherwise. SO SO SO sad people please go give back to the school….
