Bishop Eddie Long of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church issued an apology to the Anti-Defamation League for his role in a king-crowning ceremony last weekend. Long wrote a letter addressed to Bill Nigut, southeast regional director of the ADL — a Jewish group that fights anti-Semitism:
“The ceremony was not my suggestion, nor was it my intent, to participate in any ritual that is offensive in any manner to the Jewish community, or any group,” Bishop Long wrote in an open letter to Bill Nigut, “Furthermore, I sincerely denounce any action that depicts me as a King, for I am merely just a servant of the Lord.”
“While I believe that Rabbi Ralph Messer has good intentions during his message at New Birth, I understand that the ceremony he performed on Sunday, January 29th, caused harm to the Jewish community, for which I am deeply sorry,”
Long wrote.
CNNÂ reports Nigut acknowledged the apology and said he was grateful for it.Â
“I thought it was a very heartfelt, sincere, humble apology,” he told CNN.
“I was very gratified by Bishop Long apparently recognizing what our concern was.”
wtf i wish people would stop acting like the jewish people are some special people . If eddie long want to wrap himself into some peice of paper thats is business that paper is not gold its not touch by this so call god people wake up and stop being brainwashed. jewish people are not god people they are like everybody with red blood and have one live.smfhatmf
Please note, it ‘s like being a jew and wearing a cross. The act was symbolic and if you’re a
” spirtual leader” and leading a flock and do not understand your action, then now you know what the holy spirt represents = GUIDANCE, GUIDANCE, GUIDANCE. Bishop Long has none!
