The seizure Bobby’s Brown’s wife suffered on Saturday was reportedly triggered by diabetes. Sources tell “People” Alicia Etheredge-Brown was diagnosed with the disease while pregnant with the couple’s son Cassius, now three years old. Etheredge-Brown was hospitalized Saturday after suffering the seizure in the couple’s Kissimmee, Florida hotel room. The singer was downstairs doing a soundcheck for a New Edition show at the Gaylord Palms Resort. Brown later tweeted: “The report that my wife was rushed to the hospital is true. She is recovering and is in good spirits and doing well. Please keep my family in your prayers.”
Brown and Etheredge-Brown married in Honolulu in June. According to “People” Brown credited Etheredge-Brown with giving him a new lease on life after his divorce from singing legend Whitney Houston who passed away in February.
Bobby Brown insists his stint in rehab didn’t end too soon. The R&B star checked into a facility last month for alcohol addiction, and left after only two weeks.
But Brown tells TMZ.com that was all part of the plan.
He says he’s doing well now, and has been sober for more than three weeks. Brown performed with the rest of his New Edition bandmates on Sunday in Orlando, Florida. The day before, his wife, Alicia Etheredge-Brown, suffered a seizure triggered by diabetes, but she is reportedly fine now.
