Chris Brown’s father is speaking up about his son’s relationship with Rihanna. Clinton Brown tells the “New York Daily News” that he wasn’t thrilled to hear that Rihanna and Chris had rekindled their relationship late last year. Clinton says he “personally really didn’t want him and Rihanna back together.” Apparently, he feels that the pair has conflicting personalities. Clinton points out that one needs “balance in a relationship.” Without that balance, Clinton fears the relationship could come to a tragic end, citing the high profile deaths of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Amy Winehouse.

Clinton also spoke about Chris Brown’s 2009 assault on Rihanna. While he refused to go into specific about the incident, he believes “it wasn’t one-sided.” He says one has to “imagine it was a circumstance in which they both had a disagreement.”
