Common is hoping to tie the knot. The emcee was a guest on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Thursday where he revealed that he wants to get married and start a family with his girlfriend, tennis superstar Serena Williams. Common tells Ellen, quote, “I definitely want to get married. I would love to get married and have kids.” The “Just Wright” star says he’s been “close” with Serena for about two years, explaining that they started out as just friends but their relationship evolved over time. Common also admitted to Ellen on Thursday that he’s not the most pleasant person to be around when Serena is on the court.
He remarks, quote, “I sit there, and I’m just tense…and people try and talk to me, and I tell them to be quiet.” He adds, quote, “I don’t care who is there. I’m focused on this tennis match.” Common returns to the big screen this weekend starring alongside Queen Latifah and Paula Patton in the new romantic comedy “Just Wright.”
