BET is facing a lawsuit from one of its former employees. AllHipHop says Tameika Dorman filed a sexual discrimination lawsuit in New York on April 13th. Dorman alleges that in February of 2009 she was sexually harassed by a camera operator named Derek Clarke while they were editing video. Dorman says she informed her supervisor of Clarke’s behavior, and was told she would never have to work with him again.

The two were eventually paired together on another assignment, so Dorman complained to Human Resources. She claims that she was subsequently removed from producing the “BET Hip-Hop Honors” show and fired for reporting Clarke’s behavior.
Dorman says her termination was based on her gender, as well as the fact that she was pregnant. She is now seeking monetary damages and lawyer fees.
