After a recent performance in Newark, New Jersey, the Ill Na Na, Foxy Brown discussed how she and the Queen of Hip Hop Soul had recorded an album together. The album, “The Best of Both Girls,” came to an abrupt halt after recording a number of songs,
“People don’t know, me and Mary J. Blige recorded five records for an album called “The Best of Both Girls,” like Jay and R. Kelly did The Best of Both Worlds. Mary’s like a big sister to me. And in the middle of recording those records, I lost all my hearing.”
Once the Brown Fox gets her career back together, would Mary be willing to go back in the studio with Foxy Brown?
They had actually collaborated on “Enough Cryin'” but with Inga went deaf, MJB had to step in and rhyme:
“So when you hear Mary in the video like, ‘You turned your back and back I came running / But the simple fact is that you ain’t want me,’ that was me. And Mary had enough respect to say, ‘Listen, before I go get another rap bitch to do your part, I’ma call myself Brook-Lyn[n] and I’ma learn ya part and I’ma go in and rap it for you.’â€

That’s not what Mary said on 106 . I remember her saying that when she record Enough Cryin the rap verse was already written , Foxy went in the studio to record it , but no one in Mary’s camp liked how it sounded , Mary went and recorded it and everybody liked it so they went with that version .
Mary loves Kim and Missy , she had nothing but praises for Eve when they did Not Today , she said she didn’t expect that verse to be so good . But clearly she has no love for Fox
