While I was at work a student cursed me out. He told me “f*** you and you can write me up because I don’t give a s***”.   I looked in the student’s eyes and I saw pain and frustration. It was something deeper than disrespect.  I met with his mom and she basically told me that they have no food,  they are late paying rent, and her husband is out of work.  This child looked me in my eyes and said I can drop out of school and get a job. But he doesn’t understand that will not solve the problem.  At that point, I realized that you never know what is going on in a person’s life.  So, I called FreddyO. and I told him what was going on. He  automatically said, “we have to help them”. We may not have much but we are blessed to be a blessing to others. So instead of popping bottles, do a good deed and help others. There are so many people in that position.
