The homie Janelle Monae is opening up about collaborating with legendary singer Prince.

Janelle Monae and Prince have teamed up on “Givin Em What They Love,” and have done a couple of shows together. In an interview with the “Hollywood Reporter,” Monae says she’s “still pinching” herself over the opportunity to perform alongside Prince, something she calls an “unbelievable experience.”
For her track “Givin Em What They Love,” Monae recalls the “wonderful opportunity” of calling the shots for Prince. She says the singer allowed her trust her own instincts and guide him through the collaboration. She adds that Prince is one her “musical heroes” and a “genius” in her eyes.
Janelle’s latest album “The Electric Lady” debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 when it hit stores last September. The album sold 47-thousand copies in its first week in stores.
