Janet Jackson is the latest celebrity rumored to be in talks to fill one of the vacant seats on Simon Cowell’s “The X Factor.” She’s not exactly denying it either. The pop superstar plays coy when asked by Anderson Cooper in an interview scheduled to air on Cooper’s daytime talk show “Anderson” today. Janet laughs a little before saying she’s not a judge on “The X Factor.” But when Cooper prompts her again to clarify that she’s “not currently” a judge on the show Janet adds, “No, I am not, but that’s all I really think I should say.”
Sources tell “The Hollywood Reporter” that Janet is indeed in talks to join the show, emphasizing that the discussions are strictly in the early stages as Cowell continues to search for replacements for Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger. Both were released from their roles as talent scouts on the Fox reality competition late last month. Singer Pink is also said to be on the list of potential replacements.
