Jennifer Hudson will definitely play Aretha Franklin in an upcoming biopic. The news came at the Grammy Party this year. Before Ms Franklin passed she hand picked Jennifer Hudson.
The upcoming film will be backed by MGM. The director from Straight Outta Compton, Scott Bernstein and music producer Harvey Mason Jr. have signed on to produce the film. Harvey Mason Jr. worked with Aretha in the past and he also produced music for Dreamgirls, which starred JHud and earned her an Oscar. They are currently looking for a screenwriter and filmmaker to add to the project. Who is looking forward to this film. It’s slated to be released next year; I can see Jennifer Hudson slaying this role before.
