The beautiful and talented Keke Palmer, known for her role as Akeelah in the movie Akeelah and the Bee is using her popularity and fame to do good things around the world. Palmer, age 16, is asking her fans to contribute money to a charity fund  as a birthday gift to her. She will in turn use 100% of this money  to provide clean water for  people in the Central African Republic. Keke writes,

I have been working with charities that help children starting way back when I was in Akeelah and The Bee, but I have never done anything like this. I was just so moved… and wanted to help bring clean water to children, water should be clean and available to all people at least that is how I feel.
