(So The MiamiNewTimes caught up with rapper Khaotic for a full interview and we have it a lll here.)

Khaotic is an Overtown rapper who collaborated with a Hungarian abstract artist named MSL for “Khaotic Killz Basel,” a mobile pop-up art performance.

They put a painting on a Benz and staged impromptu street performaces of Khaotic’s new single “Dime Piece” while parked on the busiest block in Wynwood.

Up and down NW Second Ave., people cheered and smiled and stared. They took photos, yelled “Boola!,” and enjoyed the shindiggin’. Here’s what it looked like and what the people had to say about it.

Khaotic was surrounded by cameras. He signed shirts and the car, posed for photo-ops, twice performed his song “Dime Piece,” started a blockwide “Boola” chant, and inspired hundreds of onlookers to cheer. A teenage girl was singing along with the chorus before the song was over.

Khaotic said: “I’ve been following Basel for years. They started from nothing and created something. A big something. I’m creative too. And I started from nothing and made something too. I’m from Overtown and it’s amazing to see this.”

Asked what his phrase Boola means, Khaotic said: “Boola is a lifestyle. It’s my signature. If you get money, that’s boola. If you’re hated or if you’re loved, that’s boola. If you’re comfortable in your own skin, that’s boola.”

As for how he likes his record deal, he says: “I’m proud to be on Str8 Drop Records, the biggest indie label in Miami without a deal.”

June is the CEO of Str8 Drop. He says: “I signed Khaotic because I recognize talent. We’ve been established since 2000. Str8 Drop means raw, uncut. None of that watered-down shit. We got Khaotic on the radio. They’re playing him 99 Jamz, 103.5 The Beat, and stations in Georgia, Detroit, and more adding soon. We’re trying to go platinum with this motherfucker. Independent!”

Drekia Glenn is his project manager. She says: “Just go to Str8drop.com. We’ve got videos, EPs, the #Boola mixtape, and a project coming with DJ Scream and Swamp Izzo from Hood Rich, Maybach, and Rich Gang. Khaotic will also be featured in the upcoming movie Jack Boys with DJ Scream. We’ve got two of Khaotic’s records on rotation in Georgia, and they’re really gravitating to his melodic sound and creative style.”

Supa Cindy’s company Cin D. Media helped plan and create the event. She also works at 99 Jamz. She says: “I’ve been on the radio for 14 years and I have never co-signed an artist to this extent. He’s got a spark, an inner energy that many people want and don’t have, and some people have without trying. He’s got it. His music is dope.”

Supa Cindy worked with former Hurricane and NFL champion Bryant McKinnie on the logistics. She said: “B knows Giovanni Rossi, the gallery owner. He’s an art collector. So he went and talked to him and we made it happen. I’m proud of how successful it is.”

Sound was a detail they had to account for. Wallace Smith from Nu-Sound and Video Entertainment parked his red pickup and hooked up a wireless mic, a mixing board, and speakers on the truck bed.

Abebe Lewis co-created the event. He said: “Khaotic has a work ethic that is amazing. His social media is crazy. And he’s willing to take chances. Today, he took a chance, invested in the project, and it worked. That’s the music business. And we at Circle House are proud to help expose another Miami artist.”

The performance was a collaboration with Hungarian abstract artist MSL. He said: “I’m 33 years old. My paintings work on a rule system. Between every point, there’s a line that only turns one way. You can see palm trees, yachts, a motorcycle. It’s a contemporary background, but it tells the story of Theseus and the Minotaur, except in this case, the six virgins choose the bad guy and Theseus is killed. I think this is the most photographed car today.”
