Letoya Luckett is one of the more underrated hard working talents out there. This houston Bred, southern bell took the time out to give advice to young starlets and share her own insecurities. Letoya Luckett first emerged from the famous group Destiny’s child in the early 90’s; and since then has taken off working on her own solo career and acting career. It took a while for Letoya to be comfortable in her own skin. She points out that being in the spotlight only makes your insecurities and imperfections more visible.
Letoya says, “I love Instagram and Twitter and I think it’s awesome that fans can connect with their favorite artists, but it also gives them a chance in that comment box to say what they really feel about them. Be confident in who you are and who God made you to be. I can’t pay attention to it. I’d go crazy out here.”
Ms. Luckett also expresses her concern about how young women are influenced these days, thinking that they have to show certain things to be appreciated or liked by men. Luckett has generated quite the buzz with her appearances on “Single Ladies,” ;HBO’s “Treme,” and a host of other TV shows and films. She’s set to release her new film, From the Rough(alongside Taraji P. Henson) and is working hard on her upcoming third solo album, Until Then.
