The homie Lupita Nyong’o has been named People magazine’s “Most Beautiful Person” of 2014.
Check out the details below.
Lupita Nyong’o has gotten international attention when she won best supporting actress Oscar for her role in “12 Years a Slave”. Lupita is much more than a pretty face; the graduate from Yale University’s Drama Department where she holds a master degree uses her new fame to help girls and women. She also has an immpecable sense of fashion and style.
I’m all about the ratchet side of life and the fun that comes with it but I can’t help but find Lupita Nyong’o refreshing. She openly shares her thoughts about being a black woman and trying to reach goals. She shared her thoughts at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon,
“I remember a time when I too felt unbeautiful. I put on the TV and only saw pale skin, I got teased and taunted about my night-shaded skin. And my one prayer to God, the miracle worker, was that I would wake up lighter-skinned,” she told those in attendance, adding, “I hope that my presence on your screens and in the magazines may lead you, young girl, on a similar journey. That you will feel the validation of your external beauty but also get to the deeper business of being beautiful inside. There is no shade to that beauty.”
What a beautiful person. Congrats Lupita!
