The marriage between hip-hop stars Nas and Kelis has officially come to an end. TMZ.com has obtained legal documents that were filed last Friday in L.A. County Superior Court. The documents say the couple’s marriage has been terminated. The legal battle is not over, however, as child custody and spousal support issues still have to be ironed out. Nas was recently ordered to pay his former bride ten-thousand dollars a month in child and spousal support, although he claims the amount is more than he can afford. Nas and Kelis tied the knot in 2005. The “Bossy” singer filed for divorce in April 2009 citing “irreconcilable differences.” Last July, Kelis gave birth to the couple’s only child, a son named Knight.
Earlier this month, Nas released his collaboration album with Damian Marley, titled “Distant Relatives.” On July 6th, Kelis will drop her fifth studio effort “Flesh Tone.”
