The big homie Larry Hughes is helping the ladies of Atlanta look pretty and be healthy at the same time with the opening of ROC House Fitness and Spa. We got a chance to catch up with the big homie and tour the gym that’s for the ladies only. I have one word to describe ROC it’s HOT!
Check it out below.
Larry Hughes is doing his part to help the ladies feel good and look good. The big homie a husband, son, and father of women feel it is important for women to take fitness seriously. The NBA baller is putting his money where his mouth is with the creation of ROC House Fitness Spa. The gym is like a resort of sorts it includes nice equipment, experienced staff, hair, nails, massages, and a healthy cafe. No excuses ladies about your wigs. Larry has provided an environment that is conducive to sweating it out and pressing it out. Gone on over there to ROC House Fitness and sweat that body out.
I got a chance to catch up with the big homie and this is what he had to say about his latest business endeavor:
FreddyO: Hey Larry! I absolutely LOVE ROC! How did you come up with the concept of ROC?
Larry Hughes: I wanted to create an environment that would allow women to feel comfortable. This is a facility built based off of fitness and at the same time it’s based off of overall appearance, overall self-esteem, and overall good feeling. This is done strictly for women.
FreddyO: Where did the idea come from?
Larry Hughes: Probably from home. I am married. I have daughters. I have worked out my whole life so the fitness aspect collides with my personal beliefs. I believe everybody should work out. I think everyone should be aware of fitness. I think women benefit a little bit more because of the health benefits of fitness. Working out lends to being healthy and making sure everything is ok. I wanted to create a space that offers the fitness, a cafe that reinforce the nutrition aspect, we offer the salon so there’s no excuses about the hair being messed up. If you do happen to mess your hair up; you can stop by the salon on your way out.
FreddyO: WOW! That’s such a cool concept. It feels like a resort of sorts.
Larry Hughes: Exactly. I wanted to create a space that brings everything together. No excuses “Commit to be Fit!”
FreddyO: This seems likes a natural franchise. Are you going to develop this concept for other cities?
Larry Hughes: Yeah, we definitely have expansion plans. Atlanta was a great market for ROC because for the mass amount of women and people living here that have seen these sorts of experiences on the east and west coasts. Atlanta ladies have seen these things in the magazines and tv and now they can experience it here in the south. This boutique style of fitness is perfect for the south; we don’t really have that.
FreddyO: As an Atlanta girl we are ecstatic that you chose to bring here. YAY!
Larry Hughes: Most definitely. Hopefully we will get the support that we need. I am a man doing this but my mom raised me. So the things that I give in the facility has her in mind. I want to create an environment that’s beneficial for my mama.
FreddyO: I know she is PROUD of you!
Larry Hughes: She is. She will be here in a couple of days. I do a lot of commuting between here and Saint Louis. I am from Saint Louis. Everybody is excited!
FreddyO: That’s what’s up big homie! Keep up the good work.
