Ne-Yo won’t be buying Sony’s new Michael Jackson album any time soon. The R&B star tells us that the King of Pop was a perfectionist and wouldn’t be happy with the version that’s in stores now and I feel him on that. He states, quote, “If Michael was still alive…I don’t think the album would be out yet.” Ne-Yo goes on to say, quote, “I’m gonna stick to my old Mike.” Ne-Yo isn’t the first artist to criticize Sony’s “Michael.” The Black Eyed Peas’ will.i.am recently said the record is in bad taste, proclaiming, quote, “Whoever put it out and is profiting off of it, I want to see how cold they are…He just wasn’t an ordinary artist. He was a hands-on person. To me it’s disrespectful. There’s no honoring.”
Sony’s “Michael” is the singer’s first posthumous record. The album was released last week, and features the tracks “Hold My Hand,” “Breaking News,” and “Monster.”
