Ne-Yo is celebrating the importance of education. The R&B star played principal on Monday at Seattle’s Aki Kurose Middle School. Ne-Yo was on hand to visit 600 students who won the Get Schooled Foundation’s National Attendance Challenge, which encourages students to increase their daily attendance rates.
While serving as principal for the day, Ne-Yo taught math, spoke with students, and performed his singles “Miss Independent” and “One in a Million.” Ne-Yo tells AHH that he was happy to work with the Get Schooled Foundation because kids need to be in class and paying attention in order to make their dream a “successful reality.”
Fans can catch Ne-Yo on NBC’s “The Voice” this season. He’ll be helping to mentor Cee Lo Green’s team as they prepare for the battle rounds. New episodes air Mondays on NBC at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
