Nicki Minaj has made history. Her certified double platinum song Super Bass has made Nicki the first solo female rap artist since 2002 to have their song climb the Billboard  Hot 100’s top 10. Even more interestingly, Super Bass is the 8th single by a solo female rapper to climb the top 10 in the history of the Hot 100. This sheds lights on the female rap game as a whole. I’ve come to two conclusions: Nicki Minaj is doing a great job and to these other female rap artist need to step their game up. Before Nicki’s Super Bass climbed the charts like it is, the last solo female rap artist to do this was Missy Elliot with her single Work It which came out in 2002. Congratulations Nicki!
