No African Americans In The Next USA Senate Go Get My Mule!
(11/3/2010) Oh go get my mule! There are no “coloreds” in the Senate. All jokes aside, what are we going to do? Its really sad that only 4.7% of African Americans voted in America yesterday! Come on people!!! You can’t complain if you didn’t vote. Although there are record election achievements by African-Americans in the House (two African American republicans elected) . However, the United States Senate will not have an African-American in its ranks. All 3 black Senate candidates, Kendrick Meek (D-FL), Alvin Greene (D-SC) and Mike Thurmond (D-GA) are projected to lose tonight. The only incumbent black senator, Roland Burris (D-IL), is retiring. There have only been 6 in the past. We have to get in the know about our government, if we can learn about everything else. I hurt me to see more people stand in line for new shoes then what I saw voting yesterday. What do you all think is going to happen?

That is so sad to hear….I left work early to go vote and had to go to my old city in the rain but I went…..Just so sad some black people just don’t care but always want to be the first to complain SMH!!!!!
I agree with you Trevino. Some people don’t realize how important is to go vote in the mid-term election. But when things start going wrong then the one’s who did vote will be the first to complain. SMH It is just sad and then not knowing what will happen with how the government will things is even scarier.
Sorry that was suppose to be didn’t vote
Yes this is so sad, I make it my priority to vote. I hope our people wake up ASAP!!!
Very sad and I found out on my local news how the majority of blacks across Louisiana did not vote. I love myself but hate alot about ny race in general. Freddy said it best….stop complaining if you won’t do your part with a simple vote.
If you had a chance we so have early voted!! Our people should have had a line around the building before the polls open yesterday. I know someone personally who doesnt vote unless it is for the President. I keep tell them local is far more important because it effects our community. But this person is quick to complain. It takes less time to vote then get your hair cut or hair done!!
I agree with who that chick. I made it my business to vote yesterday I didnt care about the weather, the lines or my kids acting up. I knew the importance of my vote. But what pisses me off is how our race of women and men can waiting in a line around the corner to get in the club half naked or wait outside the Rikers Island (TOMORROW) to see lil Wayne released but cant get in a line to make a change. I dont want to hear anybody complaining because it’s their fault. No disrespect to Wizzy. I am just disgusted with the whole thing.
I live in Detroit and yes I voted! The sad thing is there was only a 28% voter turn out rate in the city and now we have a Republican governor. smh!
