The probation officer for T.I. reccommends that the rapper face 8-14 months in prison if his probation is revoked following his recent arrest in Los Angeles. The rapper’s attorneys countered in court filings this week the probation officer’s recommendations are “erroneous” and that he should at most face between five to 11 months behind bars. However, in a memo filed Friday, T.I.’s lawyer said the probation officer erred in asking for eight to 14 months because those are the guidelines for for violent career criminals.The lawyers say that shouldn’t apply to T.I. because his prior conviction for assaulting a Florida police detective does not qualify as a “violent felony.” He has another hearing with a judge on 10/15/2010 @ 2p.m.T.I. lhas 3 possible violations of his bond: possession of the drug ecstasy, testing positive for opiates and associating with a convicted felon.
