Pharrell may soon be taking a seat at the “American Idol” judges’ table. “Us Weekly” reports the N.E.R.D. rapper and highly-sought-after producer is one of the frontrunners in line for the opening on the Fox show this coming season. Sources say Pharrell and pop star Nick Jonas could both be new “Idol” judges with current judge Randy Jackson supposedly being moved into a “mentoring role.” However, Fox has yet to offer any official comment since announcing the addition of Mariah Carey earlier this month. The show began looking for new talent after former judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler both called it quits after two seasons.
