My homie Frank Ski and his lovely wife rolled out the red carpet for his 10th Annual Frank Ski Kids Foundation Wine-tasting Event. The annual fundraiser/celebration was amazing. The event had Atlanta’s mover and shakers in the house raising money and partying for the kids. Frank Ski Kids Foundation has a long history and record of doing good for the children in Atlanta.
This year’s fundraiser will go towards scholarship dollars for deserving student athletes, Frank Ski Kids traveling to Alaska to study the effects of Global Warming, and for Atlanta students excelling in academics.
Atlanta celebrities came out to lend their support with participation and checks. The event was co-sponsored by Kevin and Erica Liles. The event involved wonderful food catered by Chef Davis.
The desert selections ranged from my girls over at Cami Cakes and the delicious deserts from Yum Yum.
The live entertainment included an amazing performance by Gritz & Jelly Butter band, saxophonist Micheal Phillips, songstress Algebra, and the big homie Anthony David.
Mayor Kasim Reed spoke to the audience about the importance of supporting organizations like Frank Ski Kids Foundation. Frank Ski brought up several of his students from the Frank Ski Kids Foundation. The students talked about how their lives and perspectives have changed since becoming a Frank Ski Kid. They articulated how they are now more confident.
They told the audience that they know that the world is larger than Atlanta and that they can accomplish any goal that they want. Frank Ski told the audience that one of their former atheltes is not the head of Harvard’s football team.
They mentioned how the Frank Ski Kids Foundation is changing lives and that they want to continue to do work.
The auction was amazing. There were all kinds of prizes from back stage passes to Zoo Atlanta to airline tickets to Utah to visit vineyards for a party of five.
The big homie Yung Jeezy walked away with an original Monica Tooke piece. It was an amazing night.
