My girl Tamar Braxton is WINNING! In the words of SHE/HER “SHE WON!”. Tamar Braxton’s highly anticipated album is #1 on R&B and POP charts. This has been a long time coming for HER and we are ecstatic to see our girl break out. Tamar is enjoying major success with her new album, new talk show, new baby, and various projects including a new book titled “Love and War” and a Christmas CD coming out around the holidays. Tamar greeted tons of fans in Atlanta at the DTLR Camp Creek location. The gracious star greeted each fan with a warm hug and thank you for supporting her many projects as her loving husband Vince stood in the background enjoying his wife’s success.

Ramona Debreaux: I have never seen a superstar so gracious and kind. I mean you cared about the fans standing out in the heat. Most superstars could care less. Where does that come from Tamar?

Tamar Braxton: Believe it or not I don’t view myself as a star. I am just a girl given the chance to live out her dreams.

Ramona Debreaux: You don’t look like you just had a child. How old is he now? How is motherhood?

Tamar Braxton: Logan is 12 weeks old. Logan is the best thing to ever happen to me! He was so unexpected. I never knew I wanted to have kids. I was so not that girl but motherhood is awesome.

Ramona Debreaux: We are going to get to some questions from your fans but let’s talk about being number 1 R&B album in the country and on the pop charts too. How does that feel?

Tamar Braxton: It feels AMAZING. I never expected that!

Ramona Debreaux: Speak on the Dreams Deferred piece. I know how long you have wanted this moment. What advice do you have for people who have a dream that seems impossible.

Tamar Braxton: The only person that can give up on you is yourself. People will always say no but you gotta keep trying. As long as you are above the ground there’s opportunity. Utilize your time and be serious about your craft. Don’t forget to PRACTICE! Be serious about your goals. Understand you have to be talented. Don’t seek the impossible be realistic! Stay in your lane everybody has their own lane. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication. The more people who tell you no the harder it seems. When you are serious nobody can detour you from your goals.

Fan #1: What ways have becoming a mother changed you?

Tamar Braxton: It used to be all about me and now it’s all about Logan. It was just me and Vincent. Now it’s where are we going and if the baby is coming with us. We used to could just get up and go. It’s not like that anymore; he comes first now.

Fan #2: By following your career we watched the highs and lows. Do you think it was so difficult because you were not willing to compromise your creativity?

Tamar Braxton: Honestly this is a hard question. I feel like I have had to battle this issue my whole life my big personality, being opinionated its sometimes TEAM TOO MUCH for other people. I feel like that was a lot of reason for the delay in my opportunities. Sometimes you have to look in the mirror and check yourself and know when to be YOU, when to be an ARTIST, and when to LISTEN because you don’t know it all. You can learn from every situation. The right situation came along when it was okay for me to be ME!

Ramona Debreaux: Look at that! All of your blessings are really coming together. I knew it was just a matter of time when you performed at the BET Awards with Gladys Knight and you shined like a star. You did that!

Tamar Braxton: Oh don’t remind me. That was a really dark time. Vince was in intensive care. I didn’t want to go. He insisted I go.

Ramona Debreaux: Wow, you are truly a star!

Fan #3: Spoke with a whisper and asked Tamar to address how she deals with her vitiligo and what advice do you have for people with skin issues or issues with their bodies.

Tamar Braxton: It takes time. I used to sit on my hands to hide my vitiligo. It takes time. You have to accept yourself for who you are.

Fan #4: What inspired the “Love and War” book?

Tamar Braxton: The “Love and War” book is not named after the album it’s actually my story, Vince’s story, and our story. It’s a relationship book and it’s very interesting. It’s very romantic. Everything is relationship driven. I am just in this place right now. I am not trying to be a relationship expert it’s just the place I am in right now.

Fan #5: Your spirituality seems to play a big role in your life. Can you speak on that?

Tamar Braxton: It plays a big role. I decided to get personal and go beyond reading the bible, going to church, and relying on my parent’s view-point. Once I got personal and focused on my relationship with GOD things began to flourish.

Fan #6: What are you going to do with those Popsicles?

Tamar Braxton: I have no interest in that anytime soon or every again!

There were tons of questions and the home girl Tamar graciously answered them all. Some included a young fan asking if she could have a sleep over at Tamar’s house. One fan a 10-year-old rapper by the name of King Roscoe asked how to balance playtime and work. Tamar gave great advice and it was an amazing time to be had by all.
