R. Kelly’s Chicago mansion is no longer his. The singers 22-thousand square foot home was auctioned off as part of foreclosure proceedings on the three acre property. Kelly’s bank picked up the house for a bid of 950-thousand dollars, even though Kelly owed two-point-nine million dollars on the home’s mortgage.
The bank foreclosed on the home back in 2011, claiming that Kelly had not been making payments on his three-point-five million dollar mortgage for more than a year. Kelly previously tried to sell the six bedroom home for one-point-six million dollars to escape the foreclosure proceedings, but no one took the offer and it sat on the market for about a year.
Kelly is currently at work on his 13th album “Black Panties” which is expected to hit store shelves later this year.
