Jeantel has accomplished a huge accomplishment for many young adults, which is to graduate from high school. She is remembered for her testimony against Zimmerman during the Trayvon Martin Trial. Jeantel was the last person to talk to Martin before he was gunned down. After her turn on the stand, social media pages were ringing. She was mocked because of her speech and mannerisms during the trial.

After listening to her interview with Piers Morgan, Tom Joyner offered Jeantel a full-ride scholarship to any HBCU in the country. It was also not to long after when Miami defense and civil rights attorney Rod Vereen worked with Jeantel to get her on the right track. He received help from the Tom Joyner Foundation, he gathered tutored, psychologist, and mentors to bring up her math and reading skills.

Jeantel’s journey does not stop here, she will continue to meet with her tutors, plans to head off to college, and work on a potential career as a clothing designer. She also head a special guest in the audience at her graduation, Sybrina Fulton. Jeantel mentioned how Martin’s presence filled the room through her attendance.

She explained to Yahoo News, “Her coming is like having Trayvon there saying, ‘You did it. You proved people wrong.”

It is a joy to know Jeantel kept her promise to her dear friend! She has overcame so much within the past year and I cannot wait to see the other great things she will do in her life.
