Samuel L. Jackson Upset Over Lack Of Diversity At Oscars

Samuel L. Jackson

Samuel L. Jackson wasn’t very impressed with last weekend’s broadcast of the Academy Awards. The actor caught up with TMZ.com on Tuesday and said he was disappointed with the lack of African-American actors. Jackson remarks, quote, “I guess they didn’t think we were available to read teleprompters that night…not a big deal, hopefully it’ll get better.” Jackson added that Oscar organizers could have very easily added a little diversity to the show, noting that plenty of actors would have been happy to take part. He adds, quote, “Hopefully they won’t make that mistake again.”

The 83rd Annual Academy Awards were hosted by actors James Franco and Anne Hathaway. Not one African-American male actor was on hand to present during the show.
