Suge Knight is free on bail following his arrest early Thursday morning. TMZ.com says Death Row Records’ former first man was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, involving a firearm. Suge reportedly pointed a gun at another vehicle while driving his SUV in the Los Angeles area. Police subsequently located Suge’s ride and initiated a “high risk stop.” TMZ says multiple officers drew their weapons and ordered Knight and two other women out of the vehicle. Suge was also charged with driving on a suspended license. Knight reportedly posted 65-thousand-dollars in bail money for his freedom.
Suge Knight’s latest arrest only adds to a long history of legal troubles. He was released from prison in 2001 after serving four years for a parole violation. He went to jail again in 2003 after striking a parking lot attendant. In 2008, Knight was arrested on drug and aggravated assault charges, although he was eventually cleared.
