Timbaland said he decided to “take a drive” on Tuesday after a piece of his jewelry went missing, and the next thing he knew, he was stopped by police who believed he was trying to kill himself.

“I don’t know what happened, to be honest with you. I don’t even know what people are talking about,” the rapper/producer told Ryan Seacrest on his syndicated radio show yesterday.

Apparently, a helicopter spotted Timbaland and deputies were sent to his location. Officers then took him home and determined his life was not in danger. When asked about the theft of the watch, Timbaland told Seacrest, “[The theft] did happen, but it wasn’t a watch, it was something else… It’s people that’s close to you. So the only thing I did was take a drive to figure out how I was gonna handle it.” He added that the suicide rumors could have stemmed from the fact that he “wasn’t talking, so I guess people got worried.” The producer told Seacrest that he is currently in the studio finishing up Keri Hilson’s sophomore album.
