Trey Songz will be making his big screen debut late next year. “The Hollywood Reporter” says the R&B star has signed on to play the male lead in “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D.” Slated to star alongside Trey in the film are actors Alexandra Daddario, Scott Eastwood, and Tania Raymonde. “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D” is set to begin filming in Shreveport, Louisiana later this month. It’s scheduled to arrive in theaters on October 5th, 2012.

Trey Songz is also working on his music. He’s planning to release his fifth studio effort this fall. His last album, 2010’s “Passion, Pain and Pleasure,” opened at number two on the Billboard 200 chart.
